Within human beings, there resides a spirit. That spirit is creative, has wisdom, and a remarkable memory ability. So, we have within us the capacity to be very creative in all sorts of ways. Now, is the above title hype, or for real? Believe it or not, it's for real!
Thomas Edison, from his laboratories in New Jersey, created a river of inventions, including the lightbulb in 1879 -- the electric valve in 1883, and talking motion pictures in 1912. And that's just a few!
Well,I don't know about the inspiration, but the perspiration, I can understand! Edison knew this principle very well. As you know, this famous American inventor was granted over 1000 patents during his lifetime.
One of the keys to creativity is to have an open mind. To look beyond conventional wisdom. In today's parlance -- think outside the box.
The possibilities for creativity are boundless, and the first step to becoming a genius like Edison is to master your memory.
This is not difficult. Psychologists today, and Educators have revived the ancient Greek mnemonic systems that are simple to use and very very effective.
Let me give you a little exercise, as I close. By way of illustration:
picture yourself at your favourite restaurant, and the zip on your leather bag containing your wallet is stuck.
You notice a fork on the table. How do these two items relate to each other? Maybe you can use the fork as a lever, to help you pry open the stuck zip? What you think?
If you learn to open up your mind -- unzip your potential, as it were, you really can become a genius!
