Looking to add a bunch of followers to your twitter account without being stuck to the computer chair all day? That is what I was looking for when I was searching for a tool. I used Hummingbird, Hummingbird2, tweetlater, SocialToo, and a couple more that aren't even worth mentioning.
Using Twitter can be a great experience and I can be even more fun when you can automate some of the processes. Those looking for something that would help me with this I looked into several different auto twitter programs like Hummingbird,TweetLater, and SocialToo. I wouldn't say any of these are bad but I would say that TweetAdder takes the cake.
If your social media marketing strategy includes a broadcast component, TweetAdder is a tool worth considering. With just a reasonable amount of set-up, TweetAdder automates the commodity tasks and leaves new B2B marketers free to use tools like Seesmic's Desktop for richer engagement activities.
The two areas that Tweet Adder could improve are interface and performance. The interface is reasonably clear but just looks a little dated and in need of a "2.0? revamp, whilst on underpowered PCs the interface often freezes while it's undertaking its tasks (although it generally comes back to life if you just leave it be). The software is updated frequently though, so hopefully performance and interface enhancements will be forthcoming in a future release, and these minor downsides certainly don't really impact on use of the application.
The program is downloadable from the official website, which gives you a chance to check out the trial version and see if it works for you or not. Once you are able to get more twitter followers and are satisfied with the product's performance, you can then purchase a product key to be able to use all of the features, which includes scheduling tweets automatically, sending out "reminders" to all of your followers, and allows you to maintain a list of people who have successfully responded to your tweets while un-following those who have not. What's more, Tweet Adder allows you to check your Twitter's user statistics through multiple graphs depicting the number of people who you've followed, the number of people who followed you, those who you've un-followed, and the like. You'll be able to check out your online marketing progress directly through this program, which is why many marketers have nothing but praise for this Twitter tool.
I can also specify Tweet Adder to do some automated tasks every time I log in, or at a specific time every single day. For instance, I could unfollow (as many people as I want) at a specific time, automatic follow users, or automatic send a message to all my followers.
You can manually define the settings for following users. It's possible to randomize the time intervals between follows being added - this helps a great deal in keeping an account away from the prying eyes of the Twitter spam-delete-o team.
Well, being just a little obsessive (just a little, honest), I ended up spending a lot of time on Twitter. And I enjoy going on Twitter still today. The problem is, seeing it as part of my job as a blogger to keep up with Twitter, I found myself spending too much time there, following people, and to some degree, getting followed back.
