Here's the science: Restorelite is a purpose built multi-light emitting diode unit radiating a narrow waveband of near infra-red light that has been medically proven to be therapeutic.
The Restorelite device is powered by mains electricity via a 12-volt transformer, the device looks similar to a computer mouse and is held over the area to be treated for a few minutes at least twice a day.
The treatment is harmless - and claims no side effects. Skin rejuvenation can be detected after approximately 4 weeks of regular use. It is not yet known how long the device must be used for. Those involved in the trials have not stopped using it since so there is no research about what happens when treatment is halted.
Skin scientist Dr Peter Dykes, the clinical director of the skin testing firm Cutest, was sceptical. "I think that this needs to be viewed with a degree of caution and more research is needed," he said.
"Infra-red light can actually harm the skin depending on the level of wavelength used. The heat energy absorbed can change the molecules in the skin, so I would have concern about any anti-wrinkle device using infra-red."
If all goes to plan, it could be on sale in the High Street next year for £45. restorelite your wrinkly mug
