The distinction between many types of furniture can often be a subtle one. With Moroccan furniture, you need not worry about detecting the subtleties.

Often used as a theme for writers, painters, and hippies, Moroccan home décor and furniture is becoming a very inviting new trend among homes. It is a captivating oasis that adds so much color and beauty to your home.

Colors are very important in Moroccan furniture. There is rarely a plain piece of furniture when it comes to Moroccan design. Everything is vibrant and stunning, with plenty of fabrics and mosaic added to even the tiniest piece of furniture. Colors that are indicative of the Moroccan furniture are red, green, and blues that are found in the seas off the coast of Morocco. Gold, yellow, and silver colors are taken from the desert to add a bit of history and nature to the furniture. All the colors used are bold, and are often put together to add a statement to the furniture.

Moroccan furniture design is based loosely on a tropical feeling. Essentially they wanted to bring the outdoors in when making the furniture. The furniture tends to be very heavy and bulky so that it is sturdy like the trees and adobe homes. Benches are made with exotic plant designs, beautiful mosaic patterns, as well as gilded designs. Leather couches, chairs, and benches are a staple in any Moroccan style home. They are made from the finest material and often come in different colors and textures.

Patterns are extremely important in Moroccan furniture. Almost all furniture made has squares, rectangles, and diamonds that add to the interest of the piece. Usually done as a mix match of patterns, it always flows naturally and makes it look like a piece of art. Most patterns are designed not to match even in the same set of furniture, but all have the same basic essentials in it to keep it looking great together.

With Moroccan furniture, fabrics are beautiful and adorn many of the sitting areas. The material most commonly used is a silk material to offset the heaviness of the furniture. You will find silk on lamps, tapestries, and just about every piece of furniture. Tapestries are made from silk, leather, wool, and an assortment of other materials. The lamps that are made in the Moroccan style are some of the most intricate and beautiful lamps you have ever seen. They can be made of wood, iron, or even slate and the carvings are opulent but simple at the same time.

Moroccan furniture leaves you with a feeling of utter bliss, as you surround yourself with quality and vibrant colors. At least it does this for me. For others, the taste is too eclectic. The only way you will know is to give it a try.
