Most people who are attempting to increase the page rank of their website or who are trying to improve their sites ranking in the major search engines, are aware of the importance of backward links. In my opinion not only should these people be concentrating on the quantity of these backward links, but should mainly be trying to obtain some quality backward links. This however is not that easy to achieve, in this article I will explain the ways in which you can obtain homepage pr5, pr6 and even pr7 links, pointing to your site which won't even cost you a dime.

The webmasters of sites that have a homepage of page rank six or page rank seven are no mugs. They are fully aware of the value of a link pointing to your site from their homepage or even from one of its subpages. To e-mail this webmaster asking for a link exchange is pointless. You could I suppose offer to pay for a link which many people certainly do. I prefer to take a different approach as I have not got huge reserves of cash to fall back on or to use.

When I contact these webmasters I ask them if they are willing to help me. I state that I am impressed that their site is a page rank six and explain that I am new to this game but am eager to learn. I continue by saying that I am hoping that they will show me the ropes by teaching me how to succeed in web promotion.

I offer my services to them, for example I would be happy to write seven articles per week for them if they will in return add a link on their homepage to my site.

Ninety-nine times out of a hundred these webmasters are not interested, I am only looking for the one however as I am going to contact a thousand of these people!
