Many people are looking towards the internet in their search for effective stuttering therapies and stuttering treatments. The majority of these people have attempted the traditional routes of local speech therapists with mixed and in some cases little success. With the internet bringing the whole world together in one place, the people who suffer with this terrible impediment are able to find and choose an alternative stuttering therapy route.

I am Stephen Hill from Birmingham, not the one in America but the one situated in the heart of England. I am aware just how harsh life can be for people who stutter as I myself had a terrible stutter from the age of four. Some of you may have already read about how my life was affected by this problem for the next eighteen years. I am however a very determined person and at the age of twenty-two I managed to eradicate this stutter from my life and speech forever. It was of course a very difficult thing for me to achieve, I am not trying to tell you that there is some magic pill or potion that you can swallow which makes it go away. What it takes is a lot of hard work, that word again determination and a will to succeed.

There are many treatments out there for stuttering, some of which are for more effective than others. Some people go for hypnotherapy others for group courses. I personally believe that a one-to-one speech course gives people the best chance of success, mainly because in a group course it is quite easy to hide yourself away.

Which ever route people choose to take, practice and a positive attitude is the key to success.
