Besides the cancer prevention capabilities already attributed to Green Tea, a new recent studio has proved that it could help to prevent type-2 diabetes by improving glucose tolerance.

The miraculous ingredient contained by Green Tea called EGCG, have shown capabilities to improve glucose tolerance in rodents, which resulted in prevention of type 2 diabetes in lab tests.

Although this result was obtained in rodents, other benefits already attributed to Green Tea in humans may us infer that this will apply to humans as well, despite further research has to be made.

The study who was made on a group of mice who were severely diabetic, showed that while different amounts of EGCG was added to their diet, they were able to reduce naturally up to 48 percent their glucose levels.

The blood tests also showed that they reduced levels of fatty acids, triglycerides and cholesterol, improving general health.

The well known weight loss capabilities of green tea, which are the product of metabolic acceleration, improve health conditions by themselves, but a direct control of diabetes or at least the prevention of this dangerous disease, should give green tea a prominent place in our diet.

Some nutritional supplements are already distributed being the main components Green Tea and cinnamon which is also known to control blood sugar.

As diabetes is a disease suffered by 7% of Americans and 4% of Europeans and it causes a large number of deaths derived from its degenerations, and costing billions of dollars in treatments to governments around the world, new and affordable ways of prevention like Green Tea are very welcome.

However, these incredible benefits of Green Tea for these diseases, should not replace a healthy diet and a continuous exercise program.

Use Green Tea or any other supplement as a complement of such healthy life and the result will be much better, as Green Tea will help you then to improve even more your health and it will also prevent some diseases, but it won’t be a single definitive solution.

Be aware of this because we usually tend to think that we can replace healthy habits with a single ingredient, supplement or medicine, which is wrong.

Even traditional medicine is prescribed usually with a daily exercise program and a good healthy diet. This is also the case for Green Tea or any other supplement. Don’t overlook this!

Start drinking 3 to 4 cups of Green Tea every day while updating your diet and daily exercise and you will soon notice great improvement in your health.
