If wishes were horses beggars would be on sprees. If I had had my way I would change my car every week.

If I was heir to Hilton Hotels I would have custom-made my cars with engines of the latest fighter aircrafts fitted on their chassis platforms. I would not have gone to my office in less than a Rolls Royce; would have zipped for my morning tennis sessions in either a Land Cruiser or a Pagero; would have opted for a BMW for a late night party; would have sent a Ferrari to fetch my girl friend along with her mother –no better way to impress your would-be mother-in-law; would have sent a Honda SUV as pick up to my daughter who I dote no end; and what have you………….only if wishes were horses…you know.

Hell! I just cannot go on belting out the beggars’ dreams and dropping names in this footless and fancy free verbosity.

Before my old car became a used car it was a new brand car. That was about a decade and a half back. It is a car, from the very beginning that is, wherein you cannot stretch your legs; you cannot stretch your hands either; and if you have someone driving you around and you want to lie down for any reason you would have to opt for it roof; for its cabin is just not enough to take you all your length and breadth unless you are a dwarf of the order of those listed in the Guinness.

Don’t have money? Live in a big city? Have unreliable means to carry you around? Befriend a car mechanic. Get him to a ramshackle car mart. Spend 20 grands and buy yourself a box for a car which would do as good as the most expensive saloon. Used cars in India are alike; buy new car in India or a used one, it’s just a matter of what goes into your mind. Read Shakespeare thereafter. “Nothing is old or new (he said, good or bad, though), it’s in your mind”.

Apart from the new car brands listings, now you have used cars listings too. Scan through them and feel like a prince, and not a beggar.
