Do you need to write articles? If you have a website or online
business, chances are that you do. And if you want to be successful,
you'll need to master the technique.
Melanie Mendelson's e-book "30 Minute Article Writing System" offers
a step-by-step process for writing an article in 30 minutes. The 29
page e-book also comes with an audio file that walks you through the
ten steps. A timer for each step helps you stay on track.
Initially, I didn't read the book, but started immediately with the
audio file and had my first article written within 40 minutes. After
that I went and read the book!
In addition to explaining each of the ten steps involved, the book
also has an advanced writing section which explains how to apply the
ten steps to different writing tasks. It covers topics such as
linking paragraphs and how to write introductions and conclusions.
Whilst the writing system does assume that you already know enough
about your topic to write an article, the book does offer some advice
on generating ideas for new articles. It also includes a section on
researching article ideas and content. I would have liked a bit more
information on this particular aspect - perhaps the inclusion of
additional sites that would be useful for research.
There are also chapters on how to optimize your article for search
engines and how to format the article for distribution online. A
bonus section gives tips on how to get your articles published
online. Melanie also includes a list of article submission sites as
well as article announcement mailing lists.
Whilst the focus is on writing articles for online use, the
techniques could certainly be adapted to any kind of writing.
All useful stuff. But for me, the best thing about the book was its
simplicity - it was quick to read and easy to apply. It's really easy
to get stuck when you're writing articles, but the process outlined
in this book helps to get you writing - quickly.
