How to Raise your Profits by 10% or More


Do you want a way to raise your income by more than ten percent immediately with almost no additional effort and raise your level of customer commitment instantly? In almost every case, you should position an add-on sale immediately as the customer says, 'Yes!'

That flies in the face of some conventional wisdom of direct sellers, which says to leave the premises as soon as the customer buys. However, conventional selling is based on 'pushing' the customer into the selling situation. You may have been taught to 'overcome resistance'. This resistance is the client's unwillingness to buy because they were pushed rather than attracted. When the pressure is removed, the natural tendency is to move back into the direction they came from.

When you use the client attraction method of securing sales, you drawing the customer to an outcome that they want and allow them to buy. The natural tendency of your client continues to move toward your position even after all outside influence is removed.

McDonalds practices magnetic client attraction through their many methods of marketing. When someone responds to their 'client attraction system', they walk to a counter and order. At the conclusion of each order, the second sale is made. The sales person at the counter asks, 'Would you like to Super Size that for only 39 cents?' In a well run McDonalds, you could get two or more additional opportunities to buy. "Would you like to order a Hot Apple Pie with that? They're only two for $1.00."

Do you think that the customer runs out of the store, saying "I'll just go to Wendy's, then?" No – and in many cases, they take the suggestion of the person at the counter and order.

Many auto dealerships make a great portion of their income on the service offerings that are made to you after you negotiate the price of your automobile. Some of these items are:

• Appearance Protection Package

• Interior Protection Package

• Repair Warranty

• Roadside Assistance

• Dealer or Dealer-Arranged Financing

Can you begin to use these strategies to accelerate your success? In order for these offerings to be positioned properly, they need to be positioned as a natural extension of the product or service that you are selling. They must serve to enhance the customer's overall level of satisfaction with your product or service.

Some of the 'Add-On Sale' ideas you could use are:

• Insurance Agents – Offer term insurance for children. Many clients don't carry it and in modest amounts, the price is negligible.

• Computer Hardware – Offer multi-year service agreements. If the price is an objection, find a way to defer the billing on future years while getting the customer to agree to contract for these services now.

• Print Advertising – Discount an upcoming special edition or insert. Offer your maximum discount when packaged with the existing sale.

• Hotels – Offer a inclusive rate that includes breakfast and a choice of amenities from your hotel at a package rate. Offer discounted passes at a local gym at the counter.

• Consultant – offer an additional service that you feel the client would benefit from. Offer one or two trial sessions in which the client is billed only if the criteria for satisfaction are met.

Place these offers on your 'order forms.' Make the 'package offer' or 'all inclusive' offer the primary one. Have the client initial to decline these offers and have the prices itemized where they must be deducted from the total.

This one step will boost your income significantly, build a greater level of rapport with your clients because you have thought enough of them to give them a more complete buying experience, and take almost no additional time. Don't wait to implement this sales success strategy.
