If you will follow these two steps you will make your chances of success in your at home business greatly improve. I am not the first person to tell you that most work-at-home businesses fail. (In fact, most start-up businesses, whether at home or not, fail.) So, let’s get ready to make your business a success.
So, what are the two “Most Important” steps?
1. Hire a Mentor
2. Find a Solid Affiliate Program to Work With
Below I will outline why these two steps are “most” important. Even if you have never heard of such before, read on.
Working from a home office is not only solitary, it can make you feel even more isolated.
Think about it. When you were part of a work force, you had co-workers around. For most of us that meant someone to discuss ideas and problems with. As a group you had a similar frame of reference. When you put your heads together, you came up with some pretty good ideas and solved some tough problems.
When you’re alone a challenge or a problem can be overwhelming. I have seen many people reduced to almost inactivity when by fears of doing something wrong. Couple that with inability to decide the next step to make things better and you have a prescription for failure. Of course taking the wrong course can lead to more problems.
What options are open to us when this happens?
1. Call a friend. A friend who doesn’t have the foggiest idea of what you are trying to do – and may have some unhealthy skepticism about an internet business idea. Your friend has no way to help you.
2. Search online. Everybody on the internet who is promising to help you is also hoping to sell you something. It may be something you don’t need and will not solve your problem.
Wouldn’t it be better to get recommendations from someone who knows what they are talking about and is only interested in your success?
Hire a coach/mentor.
Not a coach who is full of theories –but a coach who has a track-record of success both in his personal ventures and with his protégés. What will this accomplish? A good coach will be able to direct you toward success. When you HIRE the coach – you get the promise of help toward your success, success you can expect.
Yes, it may seem costly- but with the failure record of home-based businesses, wouldn’t it be comforting to know were on the success path?
How many ads for home based opportunities have you read recently that started out “Are you tired of…..” with some description of failed programs then noticed that someone who had failed many times with other programs succeeded at this particular program. I’ll lay my money on the belief that while failing at so many programs, the person picked up some knowledge from each one and now knows enough to make a program succeed.
Save yourself time, money and frustration by putting your money first on that coach/mentor so you don’t make so many mistakes. Just think, while the person going it alone will fail at several attempts, may give up or will finally start making money, you can go right to the head of the class and start out right.

This shouldn’t be hard. If you are looking for a home based business, you are besieged by ads touting the “best money maker ever” or some such attention getter. Watch out. The fact that you are reading this indicates you are a little thoughtful than many. My guess is that you want a program that:
• Is not a scam
• Offers real value
• Provides adequate support and training
That doesn’t seem like too much to ask, does it? We hear a lot about scams, I have a whole section on my web site about avoiding scams.
What will you get with the program you are looking at? Is it a valuable program that really works? What about support. Is it live and available with no charge? Don’t be afraid to ask questions and check it out.
