Using the latest in technology, scientists have now shown that whenever our minds are not actively engaged in some specific task, they idle off into daydreams. To turn that idle time into manifestation time, use the formula
D.R.E.A.M.
The Law of Attraction is activated by our most consistent, emotionally energized thoughts, drawing to our attention the events, resources, opportunities and materials that match the quality of our thoughts. Put simply, what you think about, you bring about. To help shape the quality of the things your thoughts are attracting into your awareness, practice using your daydreaming time to build your creative mental images.
A simple way to train yourself is to write “Dream” on several small sticky notes and place them wherever you spend a lot of time—on your computer, on the dashboard of your car, in the kitchen—to remind you of the steps of this process:
D: Desire. Develop one clear mental snapshot that represents the outcome you want to materialize in your life. Let’s say, for example, that you want to move to a new house. Create one vivid picture of yourself inside the new house, maybe seated in a favorite chair in your new living room. You don’t need a lot of detail for this, just one vivid mental image of a small slice of your desired outcome. Always include a happy, satisfied image of yourself in the picture. This is the trigger image for the rest of the process, the spark that sets it into motion.
R: Rehearse. Rehearse the trigger image until you find yourself automatically seeing it whenever you begin your Dream session. Repeatedly imagine it until it’s quite vivid in your mind. Imagine the style, color, and texture of the chair, for example, and your position as you sit in it. Are you sitting up straight? Reclining? Curled in it cozily?
Regardless of what you’re doing in your trigger image, remember to portray yourself as happy and satisfied.
E: Expand. Once your trigger image is focused in your mind, pretend that you have turned on a video recorder and begin mentally filming more of the scene. Is there a table next to your chair? What’s on it? What color is the wall behind you? Is there a window? Carpet? What color? What other furniture is there?
Each time you do the Dream process, let yourself see more of the scene. Allow the self that was in your trigger picture to get up and interact with the scene. See your images in motion and as three-dimensionally as you possibly can, imagining all the details as if you are actually in the scene. See yourself interacting with any other people who would naturally be a part of your desired outcome, enjoying their presence and seeing them enjoy you.
A: Appreciate. Because what you feel plays a huge part in shaping the reality you are creating, concentrate on appreciating all the aspects of your Dream movie. As you imagine yourself interacting with your desired outcome, notice how deeply you enjoy it, how richly satisfying it is, how grateful you are that it is your reality.
M: Model the Mindset. When you bring your Dream session to an end, bring back with you the mindset you had when you were living out your desired outcome. Allow yourself to continue experiencing whatever positive emotions your desired outcome created, whatever mental point of view, whatever sense of physical well-being. The more you are in harmony with your desire, the more quickly you will find it materializing in your reality.
Always begin with your original trigger image, then zoom out into the larger scene. You can fast-forward through the parts that become familiar with practice, slowing your camera to “real time” as you expand out farther or focus on the scene where you left off if you want to observe more of its details.
As you continue to work with your Dream movie over time, it will take on more and more of a life-like feel. Every practice of it will allow you resonate more and more closely with it. Then one day, you will discover it’s no longer a dream at all, but your actual, living reality—and in real life, better even than you had dreamed.
