Although the Seychelles enjoy a tropical climate throughout the year with average temperatures of 27 degrees Celsius, one can still distinguish between two seasons. From November to March the climate is hot and humid with frequent rainfalls. January and February are the wettest months, although the rain showers are usually short with periods of sunshine in between. From April to October it is slightly cooler and much dryer with June to August being the driest months. During this time the monsoon winds which influence the islands’ climate are strongest which is why it is the best season for sailing. The islands archipelago is outside the cyclone-belt so there is rarely any danger of tropical storms.
