Hilton Head also features some of the finest shopping in the South Carolina Low Country. You can spend the afternoon browsing the shops and boutiques in Shelter Cove and Harbour Town while at the same time taking in the sights and sounds of boats and yachts in the harbor. Of course, you can also take a break and enjoy a beverage or a meal at one on the many restaurants along the way. Off-Island, the town of Bluffton features two outlet malls with over 100 famous brand stores to choose from.
You also have plenty of opportunity to get up close and personal with the local wildlife (although we recommend keeping your distance from the alligators!). There are a number of dolphin watch and nature boat cruises available, or you can choose to rent a kayak, canoe, or boat and take to the water yourself. On the land you can rent a bike and ride over 60 miles of bike trails, or take a guided eco-tour along the beach and local wetlands.
During the warmer months of the year their are plenty of outdoor family-friendly activities at night including fireworks displays over many of the harbours and beaches, outdoor concerts, festivals, and miniature golf.
Of course, your vacation wouldn't be complete if you weren't spoiled and pampered for at least part of your trip. Most of the larger Hilton Head hotels and resorts have their own day spa on site, or you can visit one of the many day spas on the Island. Another benefit of staying at one of the larger hotels is that most have seasonal Kid's Clubs that allow you to break away for an afternoon or the entire day while the children partake in fun filled summer activities.
