Though some companies like Sony Ericsson has been defending their territories in fields like music phones, camera phone category is gripped by the N series juggernaut. Nokia has been belting one model after another, each bring in something new to the mobile imaging field. One of such models that seriously sparked the idea of camera phone pitted directly against the digital camera is the Nokia N93i.

This imaging powerhouse from N series was clearly a leader during its launch. For the Nokia N93i is not just good in still photography, but also a master video recorder. Infact, the handset's make too resembles that of a traditional camcorder while you shoot videos with it. The handset's dimension of 108x58x25 mm and weight of 163 grams is quite bulky for a mobile phone, but featherweight in comparison to camcorders. The side mounted integrated camera module of the Nokia N93i is 3.2 megapixel. Armed with lens from world renowned Carl Zeiss optics and all advanced digital imaging aids like autofocus and flash, the Nokia N93i captures every frame with great details and true to life colours. The camera features 3x optical zoom so that one won't have to compromise on picture resolution while zooming in on the subject. The camera records almost DVD quality videos in popular MPEG4 formats. Compared to majority of camera phones, frame rate of the Nokia N93i while shooting videos is almost double, therefore is much more clear and detailed. with the handset's TV out support, you can watch captured videos directly on your TV.


This Symbian smartphone supports triband GSM network as well as UMTS (3G) networks for data intensive functions like video calling. Even in non 3G networks, the Nokia N93i uses it class 32 GPRS and EDGE technology to achieve data speeds as high as 236.8 kbps. Other connectivity tools and options includes WiFi, HSCSD, DTM Class 11, Bluetooth 2.0, Infrared and USB 2.0.
