Now this is interesting...while not that new, it could come in very handy! A few months ago, I finally bit the bullet and got satellite radio for my car. I had to admit it is nice being able to choose from 100+ radio stations without a bunch of mindless ads. Since I scratched that itch, the next thing was my TV cable at home. Most of the time I really only watch documentaries, science shows or history programs (yes, I'm a geek) but they are repeated so often that I can almost repeat them word for word.

Since I do use the PC quite often, I found the Satellite TV Player. I checked out other sites offering more channels but I just could not get past the in-your-face marketing. Typically whenever someone or some site is being pushy, 9 times out of 10 I won't be happy with the end result.

Here are some features of the Satellite TV Player for your PC:
4000+ TV Channels
600+ Radio Stations
Play Full Screen
On Demand TV Shows
Worldwide Channels
No Hardware Required

Sounds too good to be true? I thought so too...at first. The free demo changed my mind though. I've tested out the player they offer with it and was pleased with the layout. Picture was excellent but did show some degradation when viewing outside the US.

One item that clearly made me choose this product was the note: "No Spyware, Adware, or Viruses, Satellite TV Player is completely free of any harmful and unwanted add-ons". I have to admit, they were right. After installing the program I ran several spyware, virus and ad removal programs on my PC which came back clean.

Setup was very easy and took only a few minutes, no extra hardware is req'd and they give you 60 days to evaluate the program.

It's been a few weeks now and I have no complaints with the program or service. I still have over a month to change my mind but I foresee this staying on my laptop!
