Getting traffic to your website or blog without spending money is not hard, but it can take some effort on your part.
When you have a product or service that you want to promote online, you usually create
a website, blog or both. Once you’ve done this, you usually choose keywords or phrases for the search engines to index your sites by. This is where your traffic ranking will
come in. If you pick generic keywords and phrases and it’s a popular topic, your search engine ranking will be considerably low making it hard for visitors to find your site and, therefore, buy your product or service.
However, if you use keywords or phrases that are more specific to your website or blog, then you’ll get a higher search engine ranking without paying for the higher ranking.
For example, if you’re website or blog is about article writing for the romance industry, then using the keywords and phrases article writing, writing, romance writing will bring up tons of sites and probably lower your search engine ranking. But if you use the phrase romance industry article writing, then it’ll raise your search engine ranking.
Most business and individuals think that keeping they’re keywords and phrases general, they have a better chance with search engine ranking. Your site or blog might be put on the search engine results, but if it’s ranked 1,000,000, it’s not going to be seen by the
person searching. So while you might not be placed on every results page indexing article writing, you have a better chance of traffic actually making it to your site on a more specific search.
The biggest benefit of using more specific keywords and phrases for search engine ranking is that when visitors actually make it to your site, you know that they are truly looking for what you have to offer. You may get less visitors by using this techniques, but you will also probably have higher conversion rates by using this technique.
