For Asian brides, it has been quite different when it comes to the make-up on their faces.

Even though my advice is to know yourself and what type of make-up suits you most, the make-up artist you are engaging either make or break you.

Of course, assuming all is well and the make-up artists know their stuffs, brides just need to know a bit more to radiate their glow wider.

The bride is still the main focus after all!!!

Let’s recall what I shared with you when my wife met up with the make-up artist on the day of our photoshoot.

You will need to:
1. Cut out some pictures of your preferred styles from wedding magazines
2. Get about 5 to 10 pictures.
3. Be open to new ideas the make-up artist have for you
4. Work with the make-up artist on how you can be in your best

I think make-up is really proportional to the personality of the bride.

Let’s say the bride is quiet and reserved, conservative style may be more suitable. However, if this bride would want more modernised or “loud” make-up, it may not be advisable if the bride can’t bring out her personality the level of her out-look.

The rule of the thumb is the bride will be the most beautiful when she looks natural and radiant.

I remember my wife, months before her photoshoot, do a facial mask once every few days. Ideally, it should be done every day but again it depends on your budget.

Look may be important but remember don’t over spend as wedding-planning has already made a big hole in your purse.

Be wary of what type of facial mask suits you. Never use a new product just because it works on your friend. This may result in outburst of pimples if your skin can’t take it.

Again, I’m a strong believer in exercising and drinking lots of water. Look after your skin all these whiles, not a few weeks just before your big day.

Although photo-editing software can help remove the eye bags and extra double chin off your face in the picture, nothing beats seeing yourself energetic and radiant on the wedding day.

And have plenty of rest and learn to relax. Some brides are really very “kan-chiong” or stressed on their big day. Learn to enjoy and have fun. Anyway, it is only once in a life-time.

One good tip that I learnt from a local bridal magazine on how to remove dark-circles.
1. Soak a potato in cold water for 20 minutes
2. Leave it on your eyes for 20 minutes

I’m not sure if it works and you need to try it out. If it does, leave a comment.

To summarise the 7 tips on your wedding make-up:
1. Cut out some pictures of your preferred styles from wedding magazines
2. Get about 5 to 10 pictures
3. Be open to new ideas the make-up artist have for you
4. Work with the make-up artist on how you can be in your best
5. Treat your body by exercising, drinking lots of water and learning to relax
6. Never use a new facial product that you are unsure of
7. Smile, stay pretty and suspend yourself in the midst of joy for your big day
