Affiliate marketing is great. You never have to deal with customers, shipping, or refunds. A website is not required and it is the easiest way to get started in a business on the internet. Also if done correctly it is relatively simple to start earning commissions rather quickly.

Okay let’s say you are already a member of an affiliate program. So now you want to know what it is you should do next to make your commissions start to go up.

I have some suggestions that can do wonders for your affiliate sight. I can give you the suggestions. Whether you decide to use them is totally up to you.

1. Study The Best Programs
There are a few things you should be looking at when deciding on an affiliate program to use. Of course you’re going to want to see a nice commission being paid out. You should know what you’re audience wants so that should be a factor in your decision. Make sure the company has a good history of paying commissions. If after a period of time you just can’t seem to get anywhere with this one then maybe it’s time to move on to the next one.


There are no shortages of affiliate programs on the internet. Because of this you can afford to be picky and choose what you think is going to work best for you.
Since you obviously won’t be the only one promoting the product of choice you have to find ways to make people trust you and not the product. You can write articles or eBooks. These are great promotional tools and it’s a great way to get your name noticed.

Always try and give away something for free. Try to make it associated with your program. When customers see you giving away free stuff they start to develop the trust needed for them to buy eventually.

2. Collect Email Addresses
Making a sale on the first try is very rarely heard of. So you are going to need a page that captures email addresses so you can send out replies to prospective clients.


You want to have these addresses stored long before they ever go to the vendor’s site. By sending them directly to the vendor’s sight you are only providing free advertising for your vendor. Remember you want to make the sale. If not done properly you’re contact and sale will be gone and lost forever. By getting their names you can send them other marketing ideas and hopefully eventually you will get them to buy something that interests them.

3. Ask For More Money
Lots of people don’t realize that they can ask for higher commissions. If you are already somewhat successful at marketing other products then you shouldn’t be scared to ask you’re merchant for more in commissions.

You do need to be reasonable when requesting higher commissions. As long as you are realistic the merchant would be a fool to not agree to your terms. He knows how much money he is making and 9 times out of ten you can come to an agreement with the merchant.


Go ahead and try out a few of these tactics and I am positive you will see differences in your commissions fairly quickly.
