Ultra One Corporation, manufacturer of a product called Safest Rust Remover will showoff the effectiveness of its product by bringing to life again a rusted 1957 Plymouth with rusted Plymouth catalytic converter that was excavated in Tulsa, Oklahoma sealed in a rust conducive capsule making it the perfect specimen for the rust remover product.
In a press release, Ultra One stated that it has contracted an agreement with Robert Carney, the nephew of the owner of the rusted Plymouth, to have the vehicle de-rusted and preserved using Ultra One patented Safest Rust Remover procedures. According to Dwight Foster, a representative of Ultra One the de-rusting would take about six months.
In order to search for the perfect guinea for the test, Ultra One has conducted a contest wherein the most rusted entry will be chosen. The winner was Carney from Frederick, Maryland who is the nephew of a 93-year-old Catherine Humbertson Johnson who happens to be the oldest sister of Raymond Humbertson, who submitted the winning Plymouth. The de-rusted Plymouth will be awarded back to Carney in September 14 at an awarding ceremony to be headed by Ultra One.
An article in the Tulsa World has quoted Carney saying, “We’re not going to take it apart and try to restore it. Ideally, what we’d like to see is that when it’s in pretty good shape, the car would go back to Tulsa for another unveiling.”
Ultra One has also stated that they do have plans of getting the engine running again together with all the lamps working in preparation for its unveiling. The Company also promises to document the whole process in case there would be doubts on the authenticity of the results.
