The Bentley Continental GT Speed may be considered as the most serious piece of contraption created by the great minds from Crewe, England. Its produces 600bhp and the first ever Bentley to surpass 200mph considering the fact that its top speed is 202 mph. it can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in only a matter of 4.3 seconds.
Considering the figures the new Bentley Continental GT Speed really lives up to its name. The Speed is based on the 2008 Continental GT which has also been given some upgrades for the 2008 model year.
The Continental GT Speed was given subtle modifications in terms of exterior features. It was provided with a wider and more aggressive front air intake with a grille that is made more upright allowing more air into the twin-turbo W12 engine. Lighter weight engine components although a MG catalytic converter was not mentioned together with an upgraded computer has also help in giving the vehicle with a 9 percent boost in power over the standard GT’s 552 bhp.
The GT Speed is lowered as compared to the standard Continental GT. The whole Speed platform rest on top of a set of barely seen 20 inch wheels that provides a full view of the carbon ceramic brakes offered as options.
The interior as expected of a Bentley is classy. There is also a new steering wheel that was obviously borrowed from Volkswagen.
A Budweiser Mustang
And speaking of great minds, Jack Kirby an art and design scholar has built a Mustang out from Budweiser cans. Just like any piece of art, Kirby has an inspiration for his creation—the Budbucks promotion which was launched by Budweiser this summer. The grand prize for the Budbucks competition is a 1965 Mustang which happens to be the favorite car in the world of Kirby.
Kirby has used up around 5,000 cans to create his Mustang Bud. These 5,000 cans although not confirmed must have been donated by fellow drinking buddies, gathered from trash or probably just consumed by Kirby himself not just in one night but most likely in a week or so. Anyway for those who are interested to join the Budbucks competition it starts on August 2, 2007 and ends on December 31, 2007. UK entry will only be accepted. Individuals aged 18 years and older are encouraged to join. Minors are not allowed to join the competition.
