Whenever you choose to include a really fine cheesecake as your dessert, be certain its look on the plate is as elegant as the as the sweet morsel, itself. A dinner or even a casual barbeque, particularly at the finish, should stimulate the visual sense in addition. Here are some tips, but, of course, you may add your own individual touches.

The visual appearance of the plate impacts the presentation as much as what you place on it. Of course, your everyday dishes will do the job. But the expanded storage space in modern kitchens permit many of us to keep specialty plates. People have unique salsa and chip servers, as opposed to the typical bowls. Why not choose plates that you use only for those special dessert celebrations?

There are plenty of alternatives ranging from a matched set of plain, white, square plates to mismatched art noveau that can be enjoyable to both locate and collect--as well as use. Something else you can consider is to serve dessert on wooden planks. Despite what you might think, wood can actually be cleaned very easily, although, if that concerns you, simply place a paper doily under the dessert for simpler cleaning. One of my uncles collected old car license plates from various states, sanitized them, and sometimes serves either appetizers or dessert on them. It brings an especially unique and carefree ambience to an event!

New York Cheesecake: This is what most people would think of as the basic, plain or “unflavored” cheesecake. Frankly, it is anything but! However, the taste will adapt well to almost all additions. Well, maybe not asparagus! I think that you should consider picking up on the rich flavor of this versatile cake by placing a healthy serving of hot fudge around the plate.

Strawberry Cheesecake: Place a small dollop of whipped cream atop the cake. In the middle of the whipped cream, place the biggest, reddest strawberry you can locate. Let the leaves remain on the berry.

Turtle Cheesecake is already a smyphony of hues, textures and flavors. Rather than seeking a contrast, which might disrupt the harmony, drizzle an arc of chocolate syrup around one side of the slice and an arc of caramel around the other side.

Pumpkin Cheesecake: This is a frequent choice the holiday time and at other times. Shake a dusting of nutmeg around the platter--but not on the cake, itself. Or you might try shaking a very small amount of cinnamon on both the serving platter and the slice of cheesecake.

Sugar Free Cheesecakes--no sugar added: No matter what the flavor of the cheesecake, a mint sprig atop the widest part of the cheesecake slice, will dress it up delightfully without adding any additional sugar.

A gourmet cheesecake is certainly worth the expense, even though it can not be your usual treat. On those occasions when you are about to splurge, party with your eyes as well as your sense of taste!
