Most of the IT Project fails when they go more than there define scope. When scope creep occurs, it effect on project and it could be a reason to the project failure. The successful IT Manager should define its project by considering all aspects of the project deliverables. Some time the client see some practical business needs and ask to increase the project scope in terms of work and he don’t want to invest more fund, then the project goes towards failure. When there is a true business need and client want to increase the project scope we should be smart enough to help him to fulfill his expectation and bring him to a situation to invest more for the increment of scope. I will say scope creep will become some time a reason of more work and more profit. We should be very much careful when there is a change happening in the scope from project team or from client. Some times we change the scope to give better quality and increase client expectations and we go in to loss in terms of cost, time and resources. Handling client expectation is the main factor to manage scope creep well.
