It has been reported the certain medical conditions aggravate the effects of the anaerobic bacteria. Some of the conditions to watch out for are dry mouth, sinus problems and a high protein diet. Since this bacteria feeds on protein, too much protein causes chronic bad breath. Anaerobic bacteria like places that have little or no oxygen, which is found in saliva. Every precaution should be taken to reduce dry mouth occurrences. Mucus in the throat, during a sinus infection, feeds the bacteria.
Bad breath causes several problems for the person who has it such as:
1) Social Problems: Social situations require that everyone be at their best. Those with bad breath can find they are a social outcast and live with extreme embarrassment.
2) Family Issues: A person’s family will tolerate this condition but it can prevent someone from meeting new people or experiencing new things.
3) Self-Confidence Limitations: This condition can diminish self confidence seriously.
Finding a cure for dry mouth and bad breath is necessary for the sake of a job or career. Coming in contact with people everyday is necessary in most jobs. Serious halitosis can hurt an employee’s chance for a raise or promotion. Having bad breath is viewed as having poor hygiene habits or just plain dirty.
More important than career or social reasons, dry mouth needs to be taken care of for dental health reasons. Anaerobic bacteria are part of gum disease. If not treated, the gum disease will not only affect the breath, but also the gums and teeth. If bad breath is becoming a permanent part of daily life, it is time to seek dental intervention. Anaerobic bacteria and bad breath go hand in hand. A person does not have to live with bad breath or dry mouth. Anaerobic bacteria can be controlled by correct oral hygiene and regular dental visits.
