Let's engage in a little exercise...?If we were speaking face to face, and I asked you what  your goals are for 2006 and demanded an instant answer, how would you reply? COULD you answer? Or would you fumble with your thoughts and words unable to give me a clear reply?? ?Let's take this exercise a little further. Let us start by defining the word goal.? ?Goal:?A goal is the end toward which a person's effort or his ambition is directed. It is his objective.? ?Sounds simple enough, right? But the definition is still pretty vague...?However, using this definition, your goal can be:?(1) Succeed in your home business" or?(2) Be top in your niche or?(3) Invest in your list? ?These are all admirable goals, but still very vague, unclear and hard to measure. Unless your goals are clear, firmly fixed, specific and measurable, they will always net you substandard results.??So, let's rewrite each of the three goals mentioned above, using more clear, concrete, precise language that allows us to track our progress toward each goal.? ?1. Succeed in your home business:?Your goal is to earn not less than $5000 per month in your business within the next sixty days, then grow your business to not less than $10,000 per month within three months after that, with a total first year income of not less than $150,000.? ?2. Top in your niche:?Your goal is to be in the 20th position in the major search engines by the end of January, in 10th position in February and in the first 5 in March, so you will be at your targeted position by April …..just in time for the Easter break!? ?3. Invest in your list:?Your "list" goal is to explode your list to 50,000 by May 30, 2006, and start running your websites as a full time home business. Your minimum acceptable positive cash flow from running your websites must be at least $5,000 per month.? ?While each of these is an imaginary statistics quoted have been chosen strictly for the purpose of demonstrating my point, I am sure you get the idea. Now you can see how much clearer and specific the second set of goals are compared to the first. And you can see how easy it is to clearly track each one so you can measure your progress as you move forward through your business year.

?Challenge yourself during this year. Go ahead and set your targets. Get specific, get real and single-mindedly head for your GOAL line! Let this year be your year of astounding home business success!
