A part of the wider Highland 2007 celebrations, this year the feast takes on a more significant role than in previous years it could be argued.
Now in its ninth year, Highland Feast dubs itself a "lively celebration of some of the finest produce in the world, namely Highland food and drink".
Feast events this year include A Feast of Local Fare, Inverness Real Ale Festival, Tartan Monster Breakfast, Living Food at Cawdor Castle, Dine Dance and Dram and Sheer Indulgence to name but a few.
A number of seafood events take place during the month or so of celebrations, with a seafood cookery demonstration by Riverhouse chef, Alan Little taking place at the Riverhouse restaurant on October 13th.
Locally-sourced produce such as farm-fresh beef, eggs, oats, fruits, hand-harvested green garlic, fresh Highland curries, full-flavoured farmhouse cheeses and handmade chocolates will all feature in the mouth-watering event.
Visitors to Scotland have a choice of airports to fly into, including Glasgow and Edinburgh, and with Car Hire 3000 they can book their car hire before they leave to pick up on arrival and drive to the various events throughout Scotland.
