Put attention to images and make sure they are properly optimized and do not excessively delay load time. It is also mean breaking up long articles and make sure that important content is at the top of the page where it will load first. Don't use any presentation multimedia such as video and music if they are not important for your copy.

There is a 3-click rule about quick access. No important content should be more than 3 clicks from the home page. Some people even say that it should be no more than 2 clicks. Another way to improve speed access to content is provide the links to the content that they are most likely to be interested. This will get them quickly to the appropriate part of the site.


Use cleanly designed pages in your website. Cleanly designed pages are pleasant to look and easy to read. Don't use an image shown as a tiled background. It's too distracting and confusing. It's very easy to create a clean pages.

Another things to consider is when you offers a huge files to download. There should be a clear download instructions. It is crucial that you show a download bar and the download status. If you have no information about the download status, when the user is downloading, he has no idea of the status of the download and the speed of download. This is very frustrating especially for user having a dial up modem. Often you will see users canceling the download midway and leaving the website.

Identifying problems with usability for your websites is essential. Sometimes these are the most common usability problems. The site does not state its purpose clearly; java applets, huge images, banner ad may slow down loading; poor navigation, too little navigation, too much navigation, or no navigation at all; bad design to poor readability; discomfort due to ugly design, sometimes it's always because a designer overestimated their skills; irrelevance of content; and inaccessibility with the current browser.
