Today the tourism in the United Kingdom is a huge point of state income and amount more than 76 billion pounds per year. UK is very popular among the visitors because of the good tourist infrastructure and a lot of the sights. The great role in the development of the UK tourist industry played the tourist reform program. A group of the considerable changes, which supported this sector, were made in the tourist industry in the April 2003. The main directions of this reform were:
- there was established the national powerful tourist organization with a wide authorities with the main aim to promote the tourist attraction of the country on the domestic and international markets. The name of this organization was “Visit Britain”;
- there was also established the public organization in the tourist sector, which consists of the most influential subjects on the tourist market;

- there was established the coordinating organization on the domestic tourist market to control the main activities of the tourist operators and the “Visit Britain”
- the strategic directions of the activity in the tourism sector was formed and the Regional Development Agencies became responsible for it
That was the organization part of the reforms, connected with the distribution of the authorities in the British tourist industry. But there are a set of the other reforms:
- the main vital functions of the support in the tourist industry was gave to the local authorities;
- the development of the service sector began with the establishment of the skills council in may 2004
- the British laws related with the entertainment and alcohol licensing were changed and extenuated

The one more thing that supported the development of the tourist industry in the Great Britain was the decision about the holding the 2012 Olympic Games in the UK. This decision stimulated the further improvement in the tourist infrastructure.
