My uncle Jeremy was a fairly decent man. He paid his taxes, had a strong religious background and was a family orientated individual. So it came as a surprise when he was attacked by a grueling beast that lurked hidden in the depths of dark shadows. I vividly remember the candid portrait he painted for me that wispy July morning. "My dear, he said looking like he was about to heave last night's dinner, I have been trying to get your aunty Nancy a present for our jubilee for the past three months!", almost instantly he collapsed into the leatherette sofa and began to sob. I felt a deep commiseration for my kin and decided to take the burden onto my own shoulders; that was a ghastly mistake! What followed was days of restless nights. I was a walking zombie, if I had the time I would have surrendered myself into an asylum but alas I had to get Aunt Nancy the best present that I could find. Inevitably, I found it! Obviously Uncle Jeremy did not consider my gift, now that I think of it, I guess I had turned into a raging paranoid lunatic; half a century of marriage and a gourmet gift basket!
