If you're in business you need to advertise yourself. Whether you have a material product, digital resources, personal expertise, and regardless of the business structure such as MLM, direct sales or affiliate networks, you still have to market.
In fact, in this day of rapid expansion of internet sales, and the ability to provide duplicated websites and capture pages, now more than ever, you need to be excellent at promoting your particular site in the swarm of other sites just like yours. So how can you be the best? How can you get ahead of the pack and beat them all to the top of Google or any other search strategy your prospective client is using?
There is no single solution to this so here are some "helicopter view" comments about how to succeed.

1. Get yourself a reliable system that's proven to work, then use it yourself.
2. Be consistent. Search engines love content and change. make sure whatever you put out there by way of advertising is constantly on the move. Every day needs to be a new advertising day for you.
3. Diversity. No one strategy will do the job alone. You need to use Blogs, Ezines, Articles, FFA's, Email lists, Networks (such as Giblink, MySpace, MyLot etc.) and more. Every time a new tool emerges, grab it and start using it.
4. Get excellent training and support. This can be a withering experience. Sometimes nothing happens for a very long time. Who will encourage you, show you better ways and share your delight when you finally make it?
5. Be YOURSELF. If you've got a replicated site or you're in almost any other kind of market, the difference between your site or product and someone else is negligible. So why would I buy from you? The answer is - YOU! You are your best business strategy and the thing that sets you apart from the rest of the world is your service - the fact that you call when they leave a number. That you leave nice messages as if you already know them and respect them. Your willingness to help them get their feet on the ground with either your product or your business. Remember how it was for you on your first day? Personal support and mentoring in online business is crucial. Automated email responses are now so common that the new trend is to go back to ringing up!
