Many people, especially car & truck enthusiasts who want only the best, are questioning the use of old laundered rags for cleaning their vehicle or doing critical engine work. Rags or used towels can contain contaminants that can harm paint, cause scratches, leave lint or residue on the surface.

The Kimberly Clark company has an extensive line of pure, contaminant-free disposable wipers. They are named "Wypalls" and come in many sizes, styles, and weights to serve many different tasks in the home, garage, and shop.

The Wypall L20 is the ‘Single Use’ category of paper towels. The L20 is two-ply with one side textured for cleaning power. It has no binder or glues, which allow for a wide range of cleanup capability without having to worry about reactions or stains coming from the Wypall itself. The L20 is good for quickly cleaning the heaviest of spills. The L20 has special absorbency pockets for absorbing more liquid faster.

The L30 is a light weight General Purpose wiper that boasts of a cloth-like feel while still being disposable. It is strong enough to be used in auto shops and garages. It is useful for cleaning, wiping, and scrubbing, and will not easily tear under stress.

The L40 has set the standard for general wiping for 25 years. It is highly absorbent and tough enough for scrubbing and engine work, yet soft enough to use to wipe the hands and face.

The X50 uses the "Hydroknit" technology produced by Kimberly-Clark. These heavy duty wipers are made to out perform rags. There are no glues or bonding materials used to bind the polypropylene and pulp layers to create the soft, yet tough, wiper. The lack of glues makes them residue-free when wiping and does not interfere with any solvents used in conjunction with the wiper. These wipers can handle tough jobs and still provide soft wiping for the hands and face.

The X60, very similar to the X50, also uses Hydroknit technology and therefore has the same lack of residue and usability with standard solvents. This line, both soft and tough, is made for general wiping and cleaning, and is designed to replace lightweight rags. The X60 is available in a wider variety of packaging.

The X70 moves the Wypall line into "Rag Replacement System" and is known as manufactured rags as opposed to wipers. The X70 will clean oil, grease, and dirt, and can be used with degreasers and solvents. They are capable of handling heavy duty jobs normally taken care of with cloth rags. The X70 is made to reduce consumption in the work space and to provide an economical and safe alternative to scrap rags and shop towels.

The X80's "Supercharged" Hydroknit technology gives the X80 the power to handle the toughest jobs. The X80 line are known as towels because of their great absorbency and softness. They utilize the Hydroknit technology with lack of glues enabling their use with all solvents and leaving no residue. The X80 Towel is excellent for cleaning, polishing, prepping surfaces for painting, as well as degreasing and cleaning metal shavings and rough surfaces, and can be used to replace heavy rags or laundered shop towels.
