Time – it's free… are you?
Most mystics believe there was no yesterday and there will be no tomorrow, there is only "The Now". Perhaps there is some truth in this notion.
Whenever we begin to expand the ambit of our experience, the limitations of our rational mind become apparent and we find ourselves challenged. We have to modify our thinking and alter some belief patterns and in some cases, we have to abandon some misconceptions that our parents lived by. How we view time is one such reality that is impacted by our belief. We have created patterns within a space-time framework, and in most cases we don't allow ourselves to see beyond those self-imposed boundaries.
Changing old habits causes some discomfort. Some of us realize that we are indeed prisoners of our own thinking… is this the genesis of us adopting a new paradigm perhaps? Have we truly realized that we have become enslaved by time when in fact we were the masters, the creators?
In a spiritual experience there are no time or space divisions such as the past, present and future. Everything is contained within this moment here and now. That is not to say one does not reminisce or think of the future, rather it means to LIVE IN THE NOW – free from the influence of the past or worry about the future. As incorporeal beings, points of energy we are truly beyond time and space. We are as free as we allow ourselves to be. Nothing and no one can trap us… except of course, ourselves.
Through the art of meditation and learning to direct the mind in creative and productive ways, we can experiment with going beyond time-space experience. It gives us a tool to safely accept a new paradigm, and ways to accept changes not only from outside us, but those that emerge from within. True freedom is the ability to free oneself from the chains of old habits of thinking. Once I start to see everything with the third eye of wisdom, I will realize that I am an eternal being with all the time in the universe!
Om Shanti
