Ringtone Maker Inc. has released an enhanced version of its popular The Ringtone Maker. New features include more audio file formats usable to make ringtones, such as Audio CD's, OGG/Vorbis files (which expand on the MP3, WMA and WAV file capabilities in the version 1.0), auto-normalize for improved sound volume and quality, added high-quality ringtone download option (for the MP3 phone compatibility).

You select the music file, edit it, and then download it to your phone. There is a graph of the song to help you choose the right segment you wish. The Ringtone Maker works in the US plus more than 65 countries and with most mobile phones that support real music ringtones and have Internet service through its carrier (e.g. Nokia, Motorola, SonyEricsson, Samsung, Siemens, Sanyo, Panasonic, LG, NEC, Sharp).

Tom Shaffer, Marketing Director of The Ringtone Maker, Inc, says, "The ringtone business is growing and is part of a mobile content industry estimated to be worth $90 billion by 2009. Currently, ringtones alone account for $3 billion. The Ringtone Maker lets the owner of a music file (on his or her computer or from a CD that they have) and convert any section of that song into a ringtone for their mobile phone. The Ringtone Maker allows the consumer to be in control and create as many customized ringtones with no strings attached."

The application unleashes your audio library (on computer or physical CDs) as a resource of customized ringtones. For any of the applications that fit into this category (see list below), the consumer is not bound anymore to choose between the song titles available on the Internet or be forced to accept the ringtone section that someone else tells them is "cool". A license of The Ringtone Maker can be bought at www.theringtonemaker.com for $9.95.

Other customized ringtone applications available on the internet include: Xingtone ($19.95 for license), Xingtone Inc.; MP3 To Ringtone ($19.95 for license) AnMing Publishers; Easy Ringtone Maker ($1.99 per ringtone); and Ringtone Media Studio ($19.95 for license) Avanquest Software.
