Costa Blanca! Spain

Are you going to Costa Blanca in Spain? Make sure you see more than just the beach! Costa Blanca has so much to offer. We stayed near Alfaz del Pi, twenty minutes or so from Benidorm. It was a perfect location, since so many villages are close by.
We went to different locations every day, in a radius of 30 minutes of Alfaz. The first day we went to Moraira. Take the coastal through Altea and Calpe. Right outside Altea we stopped to take a look at Julio Iglesias new luxury spa hotel. It was beautiful, five store buildings around a three levelled swimmingpool. Artists held concerts here in the evenings, but I doubt you`ll se Julio himself performing!
We passed Calpe, a small fishing village. In the lake outside Calpe they used to grow rice. The Arabians brought the rice to Spain hundreds of years ago. And the Spanish women invented the Paella. They needed to find use for all the rice.
Between Benissa and Moraira you`ll find a great variety of restaurants, both local Spanish tapas restaurants and chinese among many others. If you`re on a budget try chinese. The food is excellent and the price is low.

Moraira used to be a small fishing village. However the tourists have discovered this unique place and it won`t be long before it`s crowded. Walk through the narrow streets and visit the boutiques and small stores. Take a rest at one of the many cafees while you watch people passing by.
Visit the market every Friday! Even if you don`t plan to purchase anything, it`s great fun to watch the nic nac and the traders!
