1. Start an errands business. There are people who will pay you to do things for them that they do not have time to do themselves. The nice thing about doing a business like this is you can keep it as local as you want to and you can control your own schedule. You can set your pricing so that you make enough money to satisfy your personal needs as well as be competitive enough that a person would want to hire you.
2. Give piano lessons. Surprisingly, there is a real shortage of people who will offer piano lessons. Another problem is finding that can a teacher that can get through to the student. If you are good with kids, and enjoy teaching, this can be an excellent way to make money working at home.
3. Provide tutoring to students. You can do this in person or on the phone. You can do at your home or you can set up a group class at the rec center where you can rent a space to do it. Even make it more user-friendly and go to the student's house. If you are good at subjects that the parents are not they will be willing to pay you to tutor their kids.
We do want to mention that the Internet does provide many opportunities for people who would prefer working online when making money at home. This can cover a broad range of topics including affiliate marketing, network marketing, providing a service, selling private label right products, e-mail marketing, and many more.
