The parents set up a meet with the prospective nanny to gauge her personality and demeanor. They might talk to her about her beliefs and practices, and ensure their own beliefs or practices are known. They may ask her about her experience and who she has worked for before. They may even ask for references.
Then they tell her what they are willing to pay for her services. The big test comes when the parents allow the nanny or babysitter to meet their children. They usually pay close attention to how the child responds to the person. And that's about it. Screening over.
This probably seems like the sensible way to do things. However, one very important thing was left out which could place your child in harms way – an in-depth

Chances are you may not have even considered that a nanny background check is necessary for this. You may think that the sitter or nanny sitting in your living room is far too sweet to have a criminal record, but don't you believe it.

Sure, you could get a nanny cam, but in order to catch the nanny or sitter doing something terrible, your children will have to suffer first. A nanny cam provides evidence that you were wrong in your assumptions and failed to protect your child adequately. As a caring parent you cannot allow that to happen.
Find out if the person you're hiring to look after your children is going to love and help them grow, or someone that should be behind bars. Make sure you go spend the extra few minutes to go through proper in-depth nanny background checks on your child's prospective nanny before the worst happens.
