An ambulance driver is one who drives a vehicle, which is there to help a person who is in an emergency case. They transport those who are injured in an accident, to hospital and return them to their place. They should have good reflex and conscious mind. They should posses high concentration while driving since they have to sit for long time most of the times. Ambulance driver should look after the complete condition of the vehicle. It includes checking of electrical system, brakes, lubrication system etc.

Now day’s computer monitors are also provided to assist drivers so that they could increase there. A good ambulance driver should know how to give first aid service properly since it is the primary method of saving a life. He should know the fastest and easiest way to reach the hospital. The main factor that an ambulance driver must have is to drive with high speed without causing any more accident. He should be calm and patient enough to tame the situation.


He must never be emotionally carried over by the situation. Ambulance drivers are given proper training on their duties they have to perform. They are actually the first person that takes care of the patient who needs medical attention. He should be well built and posses enough stamina. Quick decision taking is an asset for any ambulance driver. He must be determined and dedicated enough so that he could reach the spot at any time.

Ambulance drivers have to work for an average of forty hours per week. They should be well prepared to attend their duties even on holidays. These drivers have to be holding great mental strength since they always in a critical atmosphere. For holding an ambulance driver license one should be above 18 years old. He should also have a driving license in heavy vehicles such as bus etc. They should have good communication skills so that they could interact with the patient and other spot members.


They should posse’s good track record with a clean chit. The salary of ambulance drivers ranges from 24000 dollars to 30000 dollars. This will differ according to the type of firm. The employment chances are widely tie up with hospital, fire and police sector. With the emergence of various service industries the booming of this type of job is widely seen.
