Porsche’s 911 has been in continual evolution for over 50 years and the years of improvement have resulted in a car that no longer presents the challenges to drive that it once did and instead one that is truly unique.

At the heart of the 911 is its trademark flat-six engine. The entry engine is a 3.6-litre that can get from 0-60mph in just five seconds. Up from this is the 3.8-litre, or if that isn’t fastest enough then there’s the distinctive 3.6-litre engine that uses twin turbos to shoot you from 0-60 an awe inspiring 3.7 seconds.

Even at such “break neck” speeds, with its all-wheel drive and enhanced breaking system the 911 allows you to feel safe and secure.

With its sophisticated traction and stability controls, the 911 takes to twists and turns like a dream, making the overall drive feel very safe and engaging.

The cabin is very compact, but luxuriously comfortable and now more ergonomic than ever. It’s important to note that although the 911 does have “four” seats, the rear seats really aren’t that accommodating.

The entry 911 has an excellent range of basic equipment, covering all the essentials. There is a whole host of extras, the most notable of which are carbon ceramic brakes and sports suspension.

Although there aren’t any official crash test results, you can be happy in the knowledge that the 911 comes equipped with driver and passenger front, side and head airbags and some of the best brakes in the world.

All this speed and luxury of course doesn’t come without its cost, expect car insurance premiums and tax costs to be high.

Steps have been made to try and reduce these costs by making the 911 cheaper to repair; its high CO2 emissions amongst other things however, result in high motor insurance.

To ensure you’re getting the best possible deal it’s advised to check online for cheap car insurance.
