Owning your own business and working for yourself is a dream that many people share. Conventional businesses require a lot of capitol, a great idea, the right location, staff, products and countless hours. There may be franchise fees to consider and years of bank loans to pay off. You are responsible for the staff, paperwork and keeping the business running. Your dedication and new grey hairs may pay off in the long run but you may have only bought yourself a minimum wage job, a load of debt and more headaches than there is Advil for. Conventional businesses and investing are hard roads to financial freedom but there is still a way for you to have the freedom you’ve been looking for.
When I started my own juice bar and café I thought I was on the road to being my own boss in a business that I could be proud of. I knew that I would have to invest everything I had, all of my time and energy and many sleepless nights. I wanted to make my hard work count for myself for a change. I could set my own schedule and reap the rewards of a job well done. What I ended up with was more work and my dreams of freedom slipping further and further away. I was broke, stressed and still doing things like taking out garbage and scrubbing floors. Things that I thought I was avoiding by getting into business for myself.
Realizing that this was not how I wanted to live the rest of my life I began to research alternatives. A leader with the supplement company I used introduced me to the business within my business. She showed me in an online presentation how I could turn my small monthly investment into a passive, leveraged income. When she told me of her success with this simple system and I saw the freedom that she had within her life and her business I was truly intrigued. I was already enjoying the improved health that I was getting from the products but wondered how just $150 a month could make me a six-figure yearly income.
It was the idyllic lifestyle I had pictured as an entrepreneur. She introduced me to other leaders making six-figure incomes, driving dream cars, taking exotic vacations all with an energy and vitality that was truly remarkable. Retirement was an option for these people in 5 years not 25. What these leaders understood about business that I missed when setting up my traditional one was leveraged income. By using a hybrid compensation plan, they were being paid for transferring their current household spending to safer, more effective products. These network marketers chose not to give money to companies that would never give them anything in return except the possibility of health issues. With their own company they could make money by brushing their teeth and washing their hair.
I sold the juice bar after I saw the marketing plan and minimal investment involved in the network marketing business model. The loss of initial funds was easier to take then the loss of my sanity had I stuck with it. I now work closely with those successful business coaches. Their support has become an invaluable part of my success. By sharing this business model and my experiences others can have the fantastic feeling of freedom and empowerment that comes from being your own boss with out the costly mistakes.
The risks of owning your own home-based business are miniscule compared to that of a conventional business or investment. Never feel that you have to buy yourself a minimum wage job to have the freedom that you want. To find the right fit for you and your family consider what you currently use in your home, what your interests are and how much time, energy and money you want to invest. It is possible to find a business of your own you are proud of that you can work from anywhere on your own time. I love having the ability to chart my own destiny and the freedom and the health benefits to enjoy it. There is an easier road to financial freedom and a passive, leveraged income is the vehicle that can get you there.
