Honeymoon is the traditional holiday taken by newlyweds to celebrate their marriage in intimacy and seclusion. Today, honeymoons are usually celebrated somewhere exotic or otherwise considered special and romantic. The first month after marriage, when there is nothing but tenderness and pleasure; originally having no reference to the period of a month, but comparing the mutual affection of newly-married persons to the changing moon which is no sooner full than it begins to wane; now, usually, the holiday spent together by a newly-married couple, before settling down at home.

Decide your honeymoon destination along with your partner. Do not assume yourself that she/he will love to be at the destination you choose. Search for a commonly liked exotic honeymoon destination. Set a budget for your honeymoon and decide everything in advance. Do not go for your honeymoon the very next day of your marriage. Do not go by the advices of your family and friends. Only gather information from them and follow your heart. In any case do not forget to seek advice of your beloved. Although the task of arranging a honeymoon can seem daunting if you haven't traveled much before, the Web makes it easier than ever. When planning your honeymoon, remember, the total expense is more than travel and lodging. Meals, transportation, souvenirs, activities, tips and special luxuries all need to be considered. Some of the best deals are packaged to include airfare, the hotel, and meals. Some may even include a rental car. An all-inclusive package makes your budget planning easier because you have a total cost before you leave on your honeymoon. Be sure to get what is and what is not included in writing. Many trips today offer insurance in case you need to cancel. Be sure to check this out. Always read the fine print when making reservations. Approximately one month before your Wedding, call and confirm all reservations. Be sure to check all tickets and your itinerary thoroughly. If you will be leaving the day after your wedding and have an early morning flight, book a room at the airport hotel, so you will not have to rush to catch your plane. Take lots of pictures and consider using separate memory cards for digital cameras or rolls of film for each location. Keep a journal of your travels. It doesn't have to be long - a few sentences about each day's events or even a series of short blurbs about noteworthy things you've seen or done will keep those memories from fading. Today's couples are still looking to accommodate the basic ideas of a honeymoon: relaxation, romance, and simplicity. Yet they are trying to be adventurous, eco-friendly, and giving. What couples need to remember is that their honeymoon, excluding their Wedding, is the first experience they share together as a married couple. Some couples are taking this to heart and are signing up for a week of volunteering and then traveling around their location for another week. Other couples are throwing in the towel on relaxing and are planning an 8-10 day adventure style vacation in remote mountain or jungle areas. For the green lovers there are new lines of luxurious green and eco-friendly boutique hotels.

New trend in honeymoon travel is still staying true to the simplicity of an all-inclusive experience yet with a 5-star location with all the amenities. There is a new twist that introduces eco-adventure all-inclusive lodges. They are normally set in remote locations, and include all meals, lodging and an array of activities. The couple will still experience the 'community' like feel of an all inclusive on a smaller scale and not only limited to honeymooners. This style of travel can be perfect for the luxurious and stylish travel duo to the rough wilderness and nature lovers. Some of the lodges are eco-friendly and include very healthy gourmet meals. Adventures such as canopy tours, river rafting, deep-sea fishing and rock climbing can all be included based on locations. They pride themselves on making your trip an "experience" in a beautiful natural environment and not just a vacation.
