Family time and good parenting go hand in hand

It is essential that you spend quality family time with your kids. You will not get this time back. These are the few days you have to build memories that will last for the rest of your life. Before you know it, your kids will be grown up and will be out of the house and you will be left wishing to spend time with them. In fact you will find that even when they are teenagers; it will be hard to spend time with them. They will always be on the run; you will never be able to catch up with them.

The best time to spend with your kids is when they are young. It is essential that you spend quality time with them. While playing with them you can teach them qualities like honesty, fairness, truth etc. Family time does go hand in hand with parenting. When you are spending time with your kids, be sure to educate them about manners, respect etc. be sure to correct them when they are wrong. Play games fairly and they will learn what fairness is. Do not cheat while playing. Only watch programs that are decent and educational, with your children. Bring home movies that teach something moral.

Do not allow your children to get away with doing anything disrespectful even during a game. Remember your love for your children is well displayed when you discipline them. Disciplining them will help them understand what is good and bad – lessons that are vital to learn early in life. They will realize that their wrong deeds will have consequences. Correcting your children and helping them recognize good from bad, is the best gift you can give them. Children observe everything their parents do. For many years of their lives, children will consider their moms and dads as heroes, so while spending time with your children, you better make sure you are being a good example.
