Known as a sedan that top of the line, the Acura RL is currently a vehicle that is sold as a luxury vehicle. It came out in the market in 1996 when it took over the spot that used to belong to the Acura Legend. Currently, all Acura RLs are being built in Saitama, Japan and are shipped to the different car markets around the globe.
For the 2009 Acura RL model, the vehicle now has a new engine which is a V6 unit. It has 300 horsepower and can produce 271 pound feet for torque. The engine has a higher compression ratio and an intake manifold which has been designed using dual-stage magnesium for material. The engine is mated to a SportShift transmission which is an automatic and is five speed. Together, the power and control is given to the steering wheel which seems to have been taken right out of a Formula One race vehicle. The Acura brand even boasted that they installed the Super Handling All Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system which makes the vehicle go faster and perform better, reported Popular Mechanics.
Underneath the whole metal, you would find that the 2009 Acura RL still uses its old independent suspension system which has double wishbone systems for the front and multi-like systems in the rear. However, the difference that the 2009 version has over the previous models is that the new one now has coil springs with higher rates, stabilizer bars which have been to be larger in diameter, and newer and better steering rack parts and
Acura parts. The vehicle rolls through the roads riding on aluminum wheels measuring 18 inches.
Other features that could now be found on the new 2009 Acura RL include the AcuraLink weather technology and Bluetooth audio. Acura also disclosed that they put in the AcuraLink Traffic Rerouting system, the Active Sound Control, and the XM Note in the package. Reports have it that the vehicle now has a Bose Surround Sound for its audio system and also comes with a climate control system that is based on GPS. A rearview backup camera has also been added in along with the collision mitigation braking system and the adaptive cruise control system.
