The production of Recycled Foundry Sand may depend upon the general production of the foundry. In a foundry there may be two sand systems, one supplying the outer molding lines and the other supplying the internal core lines. Many foundries spend a lot of time and resources controlling the quality of their sands so that they have the same properties everyday after each use. Furthermore, foundry sand can be of better quality than any other granular materials for certain end uses such as constructions. In other words, foundry sand can be bought at low cost and still deliver the same results as other materials.

Moreover, Recycled Foundry Sand may be mostly used for construction purposes. Masses of Recycled Foundry Sand may be used in construction applications such as general fills, structural fills and road building among others. Foundry sands are responsible to hold a definite shape when put into contact with metals more than 2700 degrees in a foundry. Likewise, green sands may have shown better results than native soil when used in structural fills and base buildings.


In addition to, foundry sand may as well be an exceptional material to manufacture Portland cement. As per the Portland Cement Association, many North American cement firms use foundry sands. The composition of the foundry sand as well as its grain size makes it suitable for cement production. Shipping distances may represent a drawback in the foundry sand for cement production. This may eventually prevent foundries from taking part in the cement kiln market.
