So what artist are you most like?
You've probably been asked this question and you wrecked your brain trying to name some other artist that you thought would give everyone an idea of your sound. Ain't that a silly exercise? How did those other artists get to be the definition of a particular style? Did they start out as "like" another artist and then later change their styles to become themselves? Or, were they themselves all the time and just persisted in insisting that the public recognize them for who they are? I think the latter is true.
You are the only You that exists
Since the beginning of time there has never been anyone exactly like you. And guess what? There will never be another you. That means that everything about you is unique. Even if it appears to be like someone else. Think about it. Even clones are not exactly alike. So the musical expression that is you, the way you have chosen to play your guitar, or drums, or keyboard, sing, produce, write or however you do your music, should be celebrated as you; your style only.
The world is YOUR audience
How big do you want your celebrity to be? Surprise! There are enough people in this world that if you only reach a fraction of them you can be bigger than you ever dreamed. And with the internet your reach is unlimited. "But do they want to hear me?" You ask. Your uniqueness is what we all have in common. So of course we want to hear you. We relate to you. We understand you.

The way you do what you do is not only your style, it is your gift. It is the gift you give to the world as well as the gift that you have received. All that you wish for, hope for, dream of is only made possible by you following your heart; your own path; being authentically, musically you.
We need you
Billions of people around the world are choosing some kind of music, every day, to incorporate into their lives . They are seeking music that speaks to their thoughts, their situations, their dreams, their hopes, their opinions and everything that is them. People are looking for the real thing. That is your cue. Give it to them. Give them the real you. Learn everything about playing your guitar, or drums, or keyboard, singing, music producing, music writing or whatever you have chosen to do. Study, research, practice, work in every way to be the ultimate you. Find the avenues: the internet, the stores, the tours, every idea you can find to get you out there for them to hear and let them have it. Let them have YOU!
