The big ‘acne diet’ debate has been going on for years. Your doctor will probably tell you that diet does not cause acne. While you may read somewhere else that diet is the only cause of acne. I personally think that diet is a major contributor to many of the problems that we face. What you eat is like the fuel that you put into your car. The better the fuel, the better your car is going to run. The same goes for your body. I believe that diet does have a huge effect on acne.

What you consume and digest can have significant effects on acne. To me it really seems like common sense that what you eat is what you become. First you really have to look at foods that are not so healthy. From my experience you should really try to stay away from high fatty foods that can make your skin look oily. Many people have said that things like candy and chocolate can also be culprits to the acne monster. I have said before that if you can see your reflection in your food, it will probably not be good for your face.

Now to my knowledge there is no scientific evidence that supports the claim that diet will improve your acne. But really why would there be? If some study came out that said all you have to do is eat more fruits and vegetables and your acne will be gone, wouldn’t you do it? Of course you would! The big problem there is that your dermatologist would not be making any money off of you. This same argument has been made for several other factors, including cancer, AIDS, and many other chronic or fatal diseases. Basically it is saying that you will never hear of a cure because so many jobs would be lost.

I think that when you are looking at acne you just really have you use your best judgment. You are not doing yourself any favors by eating poorly and not taking care of yourself. Acne is something that is a part of life for many people. It can be less a part of your life if you put down the french fries and greasy nachos and start to eat something healthy. Why not look up some healthy diets that your can start to implement and give it a try? What have you got to lose? (ACNE!!!!! That’s what.)

Listen, I know what it is like to go through the years and suffer through acne. It is not fun, and often times it is really embarrassing. What I recommend doing is getting as much information as you can about a healthy diet and start to implement it immediately. The worst thing that will happen to you is that you may start feeling better and having more energy. Acne is a huge issue for many people, so really have to know that you are not alone. Fight the good fight and do whatever you can to take care of yourself. Please feel free to drop me a line and let me know if a good diet has helped you too!
