I personally do not like canned emails. I feel I deserve more than that…so, my usual response is, “Thank you so much for the email! But, can I ask you a personal question? What are the 5 most important things about you, that I must know? Only 5...” This totally erases the “canned email“, and the two of you are starting with a clean, personal, heartfelt slate! It also says: “I’m special, and I need more than what you’ve given to the others.” You will be amazed at the different responses you will receive!
Also, the 5 personal revelations will not only keep you 5 steps ahead of your competition, but it will also give you a foundation to build upon.
