An indispensable part of today’s life is a credit card. Unfortunately, if you cancel your credit card like I did, it means you cannot have access to certain services you may have taken for granted. I don’t think I realised how many of the most basic things in life relied on having a credit card, even to joining my local gym. The old days of cash being king are gone. Using an American Express, Visa or Mastercard has become commonplace globally but we do it without thinking, do I need this and do I have the money. How many people consider the cost of paying later when they have the convenience of having now, when using their credit card. Unfortunately, credit card debts are mounting in many places around the world.

One of the largest problems facing America today is that of credit card debt. I couldn’t think of any other alternative but to get rid of my credit card. Parting with your money that you don’t see leaving you is easy and makes you spend more. Before too long as the spending started to spiral out of control I had to admit that I had been charging everything to my credit card. I was dealing with a debt that I could not possibly pay, and I was in a state of panic. Repaying my debt wasn’t easy and it took the help of a debt refinancing service to put me back on track. To say the situation had become a nightmare would be a gross understatement.

There is a happy ending though because my debt is paid off and the credit card has been destroyed. A lot of people would think that it is rash to blame it on the American Express credit card, but I think that they do not understand something about human psychology. If you pay for goods or services in cash, you actually see that money coming out of your pocket. Like I said before you are not as conscious of the cost when you use your credit card. Just handing the card over time and time again, it is almost addictive. So now there is no credit card problem.
