Many wives dread those birthdays, holidays, and anniversaries that require them to buy a gift for their husbands. When a guy buys everything he wants on his own throughout the year, it can be tough to find something he doesn’t have already—but that he’d be thrilled with. If your husband is a tough nut to crack when it comes to gifts, here are a few easy gift ideas that are sure to hit the mark.

A trip to match his interests. Does he love fly fishing? Why not book him a weekend in a rustic cabin or a trip with a fly-fishing guide? If his tastes are more cosmopolitan, treat him to a weekend in the city, complete with a luxury hotel, gourmet meals, and entertainment. These gifts are easy because you can base them on his general interests. The best part is that you get to come, too—so your gift has romance built right in.

A generous gift certificate. You might think your husband is the kind of guy who already has it all, but believe me, there’s always more to buy. No matter what your husband is passionate about—whether it’s grilling, electronics, sports, cooking, or anything else—chances are it involves an obsession with expensive, complicated equipment. Try to buy it for him, and you may wind up getting him something he already has—or getting the wrong model or type. Give him a gift certificate to his favorite store, and you give him the freedom to choose something he’s wanted to buy.

Tickets to the game. What guy doesn’t like sports? Buy him tickets to the game of his choice, whether it’s football, cricket, golf, rally racing, the Tour de France—you get the idea. Let him take the guys, or invite you and the kids along—give him the choice. He’s sure to appreciate this gift.

Something naughty. This year, buy yourself some lingerie…for him. Pick up something you know he’d like to see you in, even if it isn’t to your taste. Plan a sexy surprise around a bedroom activity you know he’d like—whether it’s a naughty movie, sexy role-play, or anything else he’s into. Send the kids to the babysitter for the night—you won’t want any interruptions when you give this present.

Accessories. Guys love to accessorize just as much as women do. Buy him accessories for his favorite equipment. Does he golf? Get him a club-cleaning gadget that clips to his golf bag. Is he crazy about the latest electronics? Buy him a car converter for his iPhone or a pair of fancy earphones for his Mp3 player. Whatever his obsession, there’s sure to be a thoughtful little accessory you can buy that he might not have thought of—but that he’d love to have.

A season of his favorite show. Does he love a certain television show? Why not buy him a boxed set of DVD’s for the first season? These are gifts you can give year after year, if the show he likes has been running for a long time. Or pick a show he used to love to watch when he was younger—a show that hasn’t run in years. Getting the first season of a favorite show from his past is sure to make him smile.

An education. Is he interested in learning something—but never gets time to teach himself? Buy him some lessons, plus the equipment he needs. Whether he’s interested in guitar playing, windsurfing, gourmet cooking, or anything else, there are sure to be classes at local stores, colleges, community centers, or sports shops that will introduce him to his new hobby.

A romantic evening out. Is he always the one springing for the romantic dinners by candlelight? Why not turn the tables? Treat him to a gourmet meal at his favorite restaurant. Don’t tell him where you’re going until you get there—you’ll want it to be a surprise. Dress up and make him feel special. Do all the things for him that he’d do for you to make the evening romantic. He’s sure to feel loved and appreciated.

Your husband might be the type of guy who “has everything,” but he could always use a little more. Buy him gifts that cater to his interests, or treat him to a fun, romantic evening—and you can’t go wrong.
