O2 have released the O2 XDA Atmos Windows smartphone. The mobile phone comes equip with Windows Mobile 6 as well as the software you would expect a smartphone to have, including pocket versions of Microsoft Office and push email support. It certainly comes up trumps on the connectivity front featuring HSDPA high speed data, quad-band GSM, WiFi, GPRS and EDGE.
It also features a 2.4” touchscreen, 2 mega pixel camera, video calling, Bluetooth, microSD expandable memory, and up to 5 hours talk time and 290 hours standby time. It measures in at 105.8 x 51 x 19.4 mm and weighs 150 grams.
The most unique feature of the mobile phone is that the O2 XDA Atmos has a standard numeric keypad as well as a slide out QWERTY keyboard. This means that the mobile phone can be used as standard mobile phone, or for business purposes with the QWERTY keyboard. As far as I am aware this is the only smartphone with both a numeric keypad and a separate QWERTY keyboard. This should make the handset very popular as it looks and works like a standard mobile phone when the QWERTY keypad isn’t in use.
