Well, it is fast coming to a close. The first quarter of the year is over. It is time to face the facts.
I always ask myself these questions quarterly….I call them the “Five to Strive”:
1. What accomplishments have you made during the first 3 months of the year?
2. Have you made history or just repeated it?
3. Have you achieved your important goals?
4. Have you moved ahead in life or are you just holding ground?
5. Are you working on your dreams or did you just waste another 3 months?
The best prediction for where you will be in the future is what you have done in the recent past. To make the best use of the rest of the year, you need to look at what you have done in the beginning of that year.
Remember, there are two quality things to measure: Behaviors and Statistics. Most people just wander aimlessly through life…life happens to them, they don’t manipulate any outcomes.
I know that because you are reading this, you are different.
You and I both know that no matter what you did good or bad in the first quarter you could have done better.
It is all about mindset. What do you choose to focus on?
Here is something to begin with:
You hear a noise and it wakes you from your slumber…no alarm clock, just a noise. It is the sound of the wind chimes outside of your bedroom window that have been stirred by the ocean breeze.
You gaze out your window and see your gardener busily pruning the fruit trees. He is standing in the center of your lush gardenia and hibiscus beds.
The sky is a beautiful azure blue.
The sea is sapphire blue and the sun is shimmering off the surface of the water.
You smell the bacon cooking in the kitchen and the smell of coffee starts wafting up the stairway.
The housekeeper calls up the stairway to tell you breakfast is ready.
It is another day in paradise.
